The arch was\u00a0\u00a0<b>built to honor the French soldiers\u00a0<\/b>who fought and died in the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars.<\/p>\n<p>It is decorated with numerous reliefs and sculptures, including a large representation of Nike, the goddess of victory. See Daniel Buren\u2019s Columns In Palais Royal<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>In the center of Paris\u2019s Palais Royal gardens, you\u2019ll find an installation of striped columns by French artist Daniel Buren.<\/p>\n<p>The outdoor installation consists of\u00a0\u00a0<b>260 octagonal columns<\/b>\u00a0of different heights arranged in a grid pattern. Visit the Stunning Sacre Coeur Basilica<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacre-coeur-montmartre.com\/english\/\">The Basilica of Sacr\u00e9 Coeur de Montmartre<\/a>, or in English, the Sacred Heart of Montmartre, is a Roman Catholic Church that is dedicated to the \u201cSacred Heart\u201d of\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ytravelblog.com\/visiting-bethany-beyond-the-jordan\/\">Jesus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s located on a hill in Montmartre which offers stunning views of the neighborhood below. The dome sits 200 meters above the Seine, which makes it one of the best places to visit in Paris for views.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3710\" src=\"http:\/\/thejumpseatboy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/6DB7B35F-5EFB-404C-B37C-19FC84726596_1_105_c.jpeg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><b>The Basilica took forty years to build\u00a0<\/b>under the supervision of five different architects. It was officially completed in 1914 and consecrated after WWI in 1919.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>9.\u00a0Check Out The Paris Catacombs<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Exploring The Catacombs is one of the most unique things to do in Paris and is definitely not for the faint-hearted (especially if you\u2019ve seen the horror movie,\u00a0\u00a0<i>As Above, So Below<\/i>).<\/p>\n<p>The catacombs are a series of underground ossuaries that\u00a0\u00a0<b>hold the remains of more than six million people.<\/b>\u00a0Each of their graves is placed in the rock walls inside the tunnel network.<\/p>\n<p>The catacombs were built to deal with the overflowing cemetery problem in the late 1700s.<\/p>\n<p>In the 19th century, strangely, the catacombs became a venue for events and concerts. Orsay Museum<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Mus\u00e9e d&#8217;Orsay is within a 10-minute walk from the Pont Alexandre III. Notre Dame Cathedral<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Visit the Notre Dame Cathedral as early as possible to see its splendour without the crowds. If you visit before 8 a.m., the sun will still be behind the cathedral, and the square in front will be nearly deserted.This breathtaking basilica is another Paris icon and a must-see on any Paris tour, primarily since it is one of the world&#8217;s oldest Gothic cathedrals (constructed between 1163 and 1245)!
